“Dick Benson and his crew are friendly, responsive, and extremely knowledgeable. We recently hired them to rebuild our deck structuring it for plans of a 3 season room. From the planning stages, right through completion of the deck, Dick and Scott both made sure that everything was done with the future in mind. They used top notch materials and paid attention to the details. We’ve gotten quite a few compliments on the qulity and finished product of the new deck. I highly recommend the EZ decking waterproofing system, we now have a full underdeck dry storage. Dick shows up on site almost every day to check progress and to chat. I can’t say enought about Dick and his crew. They will be coming back to complete the 3 season room and lower deck shortly. Thank you again for the great work, efficient process, and the laughs throughout!”

“Thanks for all your help! Scott was great to work with and I’m so happy we have decent air conditioning now. I have more things we’ll need to do eventually when I have money for it and you will be first on my list to call!.”

“Dick Benson of Brix and Stix Contstruction is responsive and reliable. I called Dick Benson when faced with a situation that needed immediate attention. In an incredibly timely fashion, Dick met with me, explained what work needed to be done, how that work would be done and the time frame in which it would happen. Given that Dick is a man who keeps his word, I relied on what he said and have been thrilled with his work. He has gone above and beyond what anyone could expect of a contractor and he has work cooperatively with me to complete a renovation within a tight time frame and under some difficult circumstances that were outside of our control. He will be the first person I call the next time I need a contractor.”

“A note of appreciation for a job well-done! First for taking the time to explain the differences in the materials available. This being the first time I’ve had to replace the roof on my house I was somewhat overwhelmed with the variety of products to choose from. Second, for your advice as to what would work best for my house. And, third, to your crew, who worked efficiently and quietly. When the job was complete there was absolutely nothing in the yard to indicate that they had even been there…All the debris was cleared away! My neighbors could not belieive it. They had such a mess after their roof was replaced! Best of all the roof looks great and I’ve had no problems since the work was done. Thank you again for a job well-done. You can be sure that I will highly recommend Brix and Stix to my friends.”

“I want to extend my sincerest thanks for such an amazing job! I really didn’t think it was possible – that I could get a new roof and new siding while keeping my house looking exactly as it had before. I love my 106 year old New Englander-style house and never would have thought you could have retained its unique character and lines with new vinyl siding. You did it! And you did it all within my budget. You listened to what I wanted and worked closely with me to make it happen. I am sure I am probably one of the pickiest clients you have ever had…and, as you know, you exceeded my expectations with everything. Besides their outstanding workmanship, your crew was very responsive and professional. They worked efficiently and always kept the job site immaculate. This Spring I intend on doing various renovations inside my house and I know when I do, Brix and Stix will be the first call I make to ensure the job is done right. Thank you again.”

“Dear Mr. Benson, We’ve done some remodeling jobs in the past on my vintage home but now I truly understand what a difference it is to work with professionals who are members of the Home Builders and Remodelers Association of NH. It’s so nice to work with a contractor that is dedicated to quality.Your workers are professional, considerate, timely, clean and did a fabulous job. I was amazed how fast the work got done, while still maintaining the quality. Also with the clean up afterwards, no one could never guess we’d had remodelers in the house, except for the fantastic remodeling job your workers did, our new home office and French door looks great! Working with you on my home improvement project has been a breath of fresh air. Thanks again for doing such a fine job, instead of dreading my next remodeling project I’m actually looking forward to it.”

Green Acre Woodlands, Inc. (GAW) has owned property at 126 Loudon Road in Concord, NH for about 12 years consisting of D’Angelo’s Fast Foods and Olivia’s Fine Salon. Dick Benson of Brix and Stix Construction Corp. has managed this property for monthly maintenance and major reconstruction of siding, windows and the interior for over the past 4 or 5 years. More recently, GAW purchased the former Red Cross Building, a historical building at 167 North Main Street in Concord, NH, in December 2004. The front portion and façade dates back to an estimated year 1794. Throughout 2005, we engaged in a major reconstruction costing in excess of $500,000, in addition to the purchase price. Dick Benson of Brix and Stix Construction Corp. who constantly advised me throughout the project, of the work needed to be done, also managed this reconstruction. The work was quite extensive due to having to improve the building’s structural integrity and modernization in order to render it a Class “A” office building. The project consisted of 2 floors, 14 rooms, 3 handicapped bathroom, new staircase, 2 complete HVAC systems, renewal of hardwood flooring, restoring former room sizes, exterior siding, roofing, new front entrance, new side entrance, brick walks, granite steps, etc, etc. No aspect of this building was neglected in order for it to house a prestigious professional firm. The building is now known as the Woodman Building, in honor of the family who occupied it until about 1941, at which time they donated it to the Red Cross. The credit is certainly due to Dick Benson who functioned as Construction Manager. All who have visited the Woodman Building have praised the building in its present state. I am sure it is now regarded as an asset to the Concord, NH commercial establishment.

“Brix & Stix worked closely with our project manager to complete the renovations (of a former bank) in a six week time period and allow us to relocate our facility on schedule. This was a fast-track and low budget project which featured high quality workmanship. Brix & Stix worked in accordance with our specifications and there were no unanticipated cost over-runs…we had several after completion visits from Brix & Stix personnel to make sure we were satisfied with everything. Since this project we have hired Brix & Stix to complete a conference room on the lower level of our building and repair damage to our drive-up canopy. The drive-up canopy repair also involved disposition of hazardous waste which was properly treated and disposed of in accordance with all Federal, State and Local requirements.” John Gunther Manager “On behalf of the Board of Directors I would like to acknowledge and thank you for your 1999 in-kind contribution (labor, equipment and materials)…During the upcoming baseball season and 2000 Babe Ruth World Series we will have some opportunities to thank and promote the companies and individuals that have contributed to our efforts. You can be sure that Brix & Stix Construction Corp. will be at the top of our list.”
Steve Drouin, Treasurer

Brix & Stix: This summer my wife and I had you add an extension to our house. We absolutely love the new addition. You were attentive to our every need, request and question. Dick explained each step of the process, sometimes more than once, to answer our questions and help us understand all that was going on. The entire project seemed to flow like clockwork; the day following one step, the next worker was there to do what he needed to do. Dick communicated to us each step, from excavation to finishing touches; Johnny was terrific, anxious to please us and make sure we were happy with the project. On the few occasions that we wanted something changed, Dick was quick to accommodate and fix things to our satisfaction. Even today, we walk into the new room and marvel how beautiful it is, and how it has more than exceeded our expectations. Perhaps the most telling comment was one my neighbor made just the other day-“If I hadn’t watched this go up daily, I would think the extension had always been a part of the house.” Thanks to all, and we would highly recommend Brix & Stix to anyone considering an addition.
Sincerely,
Bob & Chris Lasky
“Mr Benson – Many thanks for plowing my driveway! Check enclosed. You have an excellent person for winter maintenance! I have sold my house on Woodcrest Heights Drive and moved to Maryland, I am now with my husband. Not so much snow here, although it did snow about 5 times. Thanks again! I hope all is well in New Hampshire.”

“When I started my renovation/addition several months ago I had no idea what I was getting into. My specific goals were to have a new larger kitchen, a second bedroom and second bath. My house was one of the original “Sears special” modular homes, a 26’x 52′ 2 bedroom (really 1½), one bath and galley kitchen, built on a slab with no basement and no storage area. My project included every phase of construction making full use of the “one call does it all” phrase. Trees needed to be removed in order for the excavation, there were extensive renovations and upgrading to the existing home in order to build the 26’x 25′ addition making it aesthetically proper on my small lot and in compliance with existing building codes, and then there was the addition itself. All of the work was completed in the most professional manner. The foundation and first floor of the addition, which was insulated concrete, was completed prior to any disruption to the existing home so life could go on pretty much as usual. Once the connection had to be made between the old and the new, although I could see the daily changes, the work was completed routinely and whenever possible the worksite – both outside and inside – was picked up and left in an orderly state and with the least amount of disruption to me as possible. My project certainly proved the reputation of Brix & Stix Construction in the quality of the work, the efficiency and the professionalism of the individuals who Dick Benson chooses to work with. My very small galley kitchen is now my laundry room, the old laundry/furnace room is the much needed second bath, my old dining room has been turned into a very comfortable second bedroom and, most importantly I have a brand new state of the art kitchen and a new heating and air conditioning system to accommodate the entire home.”
